991 Tyres

Well, I've done 21,000 on my 991 with the same tyres: Goodyear NCT F1s. Do I keep the same or go for others? And I'm assuming I'm best changing all 4?

That's quite good, especially for the rears.

I thought most 991s came on Pirellis? Didn't know Porsche did 'approved' Goodyear tyres - although I believe they are one of the quietest options - a characteristic not to be underestimated.

They are a good tyre and if you are happy with them why change. It could be argued that the Michelin Pilot Sports are a better tyre in the dry, but this only becomes apparent if you strat to lean on the thing.

You only need to replace all four if the fronts are around 2mm or less or if you decide to change to another brand.

If you've got goodyears then you're on 19" wheels. not sure how many n rated choices there are in 19" sizes for the 991.
As far as I'm aware goodyears are the only 19" summer tyre available for the 991 N rated.

The 991 wears its fronts and rears very evenly, so I'd change all 4. Just over £710 a set from tyreleader, and costco (if you're near one) will fit them for £32

Can't comment from experience, but a friend with a 991 Carrera S has ditched his worn Pirellis in favour of non 'N' Michelin Pilot Super Sports and much prefers them. He reports 'better feel, increased grip - especially in the damp/wet'.

Thanks everyone. I was expecting £1200 for a set of 4 and am pleasantly surprised up to now to have a quote of £830. I'm hoping my OPC comes up with something better. I think I'll stick with the Goodyears as well.
