Now, I'm due to buy a set of tyres for my 991 having done 21,000 miles on the originals. Do I keep the old ones and try to flog them on ebay? Do people buy old ones for track days perhaps?

Depends on make and model, mm left, if the tyre had any puncture repair, etc.

Anything has got a price but is the price potentially high enough for you to have the hassle of eBay them. Bearing in mind you have to handle the packaging and then posting them and tyres are not light to handle ... according to my wife who once collected a set for me from the concierge - bought from Camskill smile

I've sold loads of old, but usable, tyres on ebay. Some of them made very little money, some made a surprisingly high amount of money. Packaging is some brown parcel tape to tie, say, a pair together and it's always 'buyer collects' or 'buyer to arrange collection'. Works for me. Oh, and you've reminded me that I need to flog the winter tyres for Mrs FarQue's car now it's been moved on!

as long as not cracked or damaged or punctured then you could sell them to track days folks or drifters.

people are very aware of the cost new don't forget.

anything over 5 years old should go in the bin for a performance car.
