Good afternoon all ,

I have just acquired a Guards Red 2009 Cayman S Sport ltd edition tiptronic 1 of 700 . It has covered 44k and is in immaculate condition . I paid just over £28000 for the car and would just like to gauge peoples opinions on whether the car is worth more than that due to the spec of the Sport ltd edition over the standard cars ?
I am not looking to sell but really would like to hear if you think I got a good deal or not .
(looks for insecure smiley)......

If you are happy with it that is all that matters.

However, not wishing to piss on your chips, the Sport limited edition was a run out Gen I model with a few more horses (303 vs 295)and some nice extras as standard. Being a Gen I it still has the potentially chocolate engine.

There is an orange one available for £25.5k with less miles.

For a similar amount that you have paid you could have got a Gen II with the reliable DFi engine (320 bhp), PCM3 sat nav etc

Or even got one with a 2 year OPC warranty

Aka the "what have we got left in the storage bins that we wan't to get shot of" edition.

Again, not wanting to piss on the OP's chips but £28k sounds like strong money for a Gen 1 with 45k though, limited edition or not. If you're happy though that's what counts - life's too short to dwell on what's done.

I had the chance of buying one new early 2009 for a discounted price but opted for a new CS instead and saved a heap of cash,IMHO the biggest killer in short/long term value is the tiptronic!but agree with others though!may be should have posted here and got feedback before purchasing and saved some cash

not a good deal no, £22k is about it's value imo.

that's if you can make anyone part with £22k for a tiptronic gen 1 :-(

most now would go for a Gen 2 starting at £26k, so will be a hard car to move on.

I have no idea why you would go for the gen 1 cayman with all its engine woes, unless you got it really cheap....

That's a bit strong for what is essentially a gen 1 car. I hope it's been up to Hartech for the cylinder liners to be replaced if you've paid that sort of money for it.
