Bonjour
I'm looking for a little runabout for the wife, who is 4 months pregnant. We live in Surrey & have a 997 as our only car. I have been offered by a work colleague a 2004 Cayenne Turbo complete with uprated exhaust (not sure which system), 22" techart alloys (which I'd prob swap back for standard), every extra available including keyless go, air suspension, FPSH etc, 70,000 miles, black extended leather & black met paint, for £9.5k no negotiation
Looks like a bargain, cheapest Turbos in the UK are 8.5k with more like 140,000 miles. Car will only be doing about 4000-5000 miles a year so fuel is a bit ouch but manageable.
The coolant pipes have been done.
Thoughts? I was thinking I could run it for 1-2 years & probably sell it for the same as what we paid as the cheapest one under 80,000 miles in the UK is up at about £14k.
Wife prefers a 2.0 TDi Tiguan but after a couple of years provided no big bills the overall cost would probably be fairly similar as the Tig's cost more to get the spec we want (more like £14k for leather, nav, auto) + will lose more, I'm assuming the Turbo Cayenne will reach a natural bottom point somewhere as all Porsches do no matter how undesirable they are & for a 450BHP Turbo how low can that be?!

was it his from new? is he a good guy who looks after his motors (the chavvy alloys set my alarm bells ringing)?
that would be deciding factor for me as it seems a good deal but they are expensive if they go wrong (although I cannot get on with the fugly looks of the first gen cayenne)
edited to say - Techart are not cheap or badly engineered just tasteless IMHO

Agree on the alloys, they might not be my thing but I think Techart is really expensive & much better than someone sticking on some rims from Halfords. I could probably sell them on Ebay & buy some normal turbo rims without making a loss
I think he's the kind of guy who would be festideous about maintenance, he know about the coolant pipe issue etc, he's a mature man not a boy racer.

I'm in the market for a cayenne turbo S after selling our old one last year due to relocating.
Needless to say I have now looked at quite a few and it's been disappointing, most seem to need new tyres discs and pads, plus the old chestnut TPM sensors after being told we switched them off as didn't use them. Factor in coolant pipes and it's easy to be looking at a big sum not reflected in the asking price.
If you know the owner and car that can be very helpful in the search.
