I bought a 996 C2 with standard suspension a month or so ago. Pleased with the car and on smooth roads the handling's very good. However on badly surfaced roads the car feels very 'jittery' - this includes back roads and badly surfaced motorways. It's been back to the OPC twice and they have been very helpful, have checked the geometry, type pressures etc. and say the handling is as it should be. Is this normal ?
Is this your first 911?
Just asking 'cos when I've tried my mate's 996 (on standard suspension and 18in rims) the ride feels amazingly smooth and unfazed by poor road surface. Superb confident handling/ride. Compared with his 996 my 993 feels jittery by comparison (I like to call it feedback).
If it doesn't feel 'right' then a trip to an independent or a comparison (with a generous local PHer?) would seem a good idea.

I felt a similar thing, and thought it was the geomatry out etc, what it was was that the tyres were wearing down hence the feel went off and it got skitty.. 996 targa
Have a look at the tyres - are they getting low and due for replacement. I would do that first if they are not running unevenly.
hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. superlightr - I'll have a look at the tyres in the morning! Pogoing is a very good description - not sure what effect fitting different springs will have on my warranty!
I'm pretty certain it doesn't have sport suspension - very big gaps above the tyres.
Seems like I need to pursue further...
