996 GT2 brakes

Bit of advice from the gurus please.

My Ceramics are in good condition so I'd like to save these for road use, I love the fact they don't dust and obviously the originality is a big plus.

I'm looking at doing a few track days over the summer, nothing crazy and I'll be taking it relatively easy, I've already purchased a bargain set of performance friction front discs and pads but can't seem to get a deal on the rears.

A quick bit of research suggests that 997 Turbo steel discs should fit the rear and at between £150 to £200 each depending where you look, this seems like amazing value if they do.

Thoughts, suggestions and advice all welcome please.

That's what I fitted to mine, in fact I think my car was the first 996 GT2 in the UK to have them fitted.
I'm not a huge fan of the PFC discs. I'd go Alcons every time (along with Pagid RS 29 pads) but if you've got a deal on them you may as well make the most of them.

I have Alcons on mine i have no experience with the carbon discs or the Alcons but Rob Huff previous owner changed out the Carbon for Alcon discs rated the Alcons for what its worth. So he is in agreement with you.

As the car stands, the Alcons are nowhere near as good as the original PCCB's. The reason is that Rob had OEM pads on the car. A change to RS29's would show a big improvement.

PF are great and I prefer them to the Alcons I had fitted before, just make sure you clean the wheels well as PF dust is very abrasive.
I believe the box says GT3 for my rears but then the 997 Turbo wasnt around when I started messing...

Thanks Mark noted change pads also will be sending org front discs to that firm in Germany for refurb
