Genuine Question - Which Porsche Engine

I am interested to know whether the 981 Cayman (2013 on?) has the same engine that has the bore score issues on the earlier cars, or wheher it has a new design as per the 997 Gen 2.

Chap at the office is thinking of buying one and asked me the question.

(I don't need the debate about whether bore scoring its a bifg issue or low risk, I just want to know if the engine in the new ones is different)

Your friend wants to choose:

987 Boxster/Cayman Gen 2 (circa 2009) onwards
997 (911) Gen 2 (circa 2009) onwards

or

981 Boxster/Cayman
991 (911)
