Interesting experience re an intended LOI re a Gen2GT3RS

Tried to think outside London and had a chat with an OPC a bit north of London

Registered my interest and asked for confirmation only to be told that local and regular clients will be looked after .... Implying I was not welcome

So, it seems that the doors are closing on these very top end cars apart from the OPC that supplies you and knows you

Also,, the GT3 and RS are top value for money. If you have a 991GT3 or getting a RS they consider you lucky, specially with the current premiums, along with good residuals anyway, when and if that happens..

I fully understand but this was not the case at GT3 time of registering an interest

Seems that its pre-determined that any halo car is on a very limited run

Can't say I blame the OPC for their stance. The sooner these cars are supplied in numbers and at a price they depreciate when you drive off the forecourt the better.

I don't either and it restricts the cars to genuine buyers who are loyal to that OPC for resale, servicing etc

Just an interesting twist in the agenda re these cars

And I am lucky to have a 991 GT3

This is not unusual, the same system applied to the first delivery slots of the mancan.

Existing local clients were offered the first build slots.

I think this shows how loyal the opc centres actually are to there existing customers. Otherwise every Tom Dick and Harry would have them for sale for a premium in the first month.

I would imagine most of the people trying to purchase a new gt3 rs at the moment are in it for the money not the car.

If it lost 50% of its value in the first 3 years this post wouldn't even exist!

Most OPCs probably want to ensure the cars come to them for servicing and they get your repeat business.

If you are miles from them you're unlikely to return at servicing time and are just as likely to switch dealer on that next deal.

I'd be doing the same to protect my long term business (as I'm sure you would).
