I'm intending to purchase Porsche Macan, but they are expensive over here in uk.

How do I go about ordering a new car from Europe and what about taxes etc ...

anything else I need to know?

I'm ruminating on doing something similar, given that the Euro is still quite sickly against the Pound and likely to stay that way for a while yet. It looks as if the price difference has widened enough to be interesting.

The UK Customs notice is fine re the formalities but I'd like to know if anyone on PH has put together a current "How To" guide. Practical stuff like how best to go about finding a dealer (if you are UK-based, as I am). Next, is it better to go & visit them to cut a deal or can you do just as well over the phone, and so on..

I've had a good purchase experience from Porsche Hamburg and English isn't a problem. Iirc they are one of the foremost dealers. Pm if you want a contact...

If vat is paid abroad then it's not due here when you go through the Nova process, but my transaction is based on a used car.
