Scotland Run- South Scotland to Glasgow
Discussion
How long do you want it to take? From Penrith I'd go via Alston before heading back to Brampton. From there you can take the back road to penton (near kielder Forrest) before crossing to Scotland and langholme where you can stop off for lunch.
Most would advise going straight up to Peebles and Selkirk but if you like deserted fast roads you can cut over to Eskdalemuir, St Mary's Loch and then decide what you want to do. Head north after that via Selkirk before heading west to Glasgow or head west first and maybe stay the night in Moffat before doing the coast road up to Glasgow. Personally I don't rate the coast road too much these days as they went crazy with the speed cameras.

Would people be open to the idea of sharing a transporter up north from the south. Say London and the South East for example. And then do a nice run in the highlands and have the cars shipped back?
I am keen for a nice trip up in the highlands but not keen on the day drive up and down. On UK motorways with cameras everywhere, roadworks galore and useless miles-depreciation.
