It wouldn't happen as they never have the keys to take customers on a test drive!

Last week? B road?

It happened last year on the A50 near Warrington.

It begs the question as to why, with all the safety features and airbags modern cars must have, the driver was knocked unconscious in the first place...

Still, they were both very lucky, glad they're still here.

Not sure the guy will buy one now though...

I wonder a) who picked up the tab for that and b) more importantly, I can understand some fire caused by inline fuel but for the whole car to be consumed doesn't look good. Shouldn't a car like this have a protected fuel cell of some kind?

They hit a bl@@dy tree. Looking at the picture below it's clear the tree wasn't going to uproot for a lightweight sportscar and the impact must have been severe. Very lucky to walk away. I'm sure people in other cars wouldn't have been so lucky!

Looks typical of a lot of sturdy trees lining British roads in that this doesn't appear to have been the first motorised vehicle it has repelled. That last crash didn't strip all that bark off.

I know Lee (the salesman) personally, he's a good lad. The A50 is a nice road with pretty good line of sight so can understand why McL might use that as part of their test drive route as it is close to the dealership. I hope this accident doesn't mean that camera's will be allowed to be put on it.

"Then all of a sudden, you lose grip"

Well fancy that, who'd have thought it ? It's strange this seems to happen quite frequently when individuals with more money than talent/common sense get behind the wheel of something quick.

Drove past HWM yesterday. They have a lovely GT3 4.0!
