Service History

Hi, looking at some Porsches and came across one that appears to be very nice, full service history with mainly Porsche stamps and some Porsche Specialists stamps but it also had a service by a non Porsche garage. I believe it was a minor service.

My query is would this non Porsche garage stamp affect the value of the car and would it put buyers off if we're to sell the car later in life??

I am looking at a late 966, so 12yrs old.

It depends on the buyers point of view? Older 911's will have a mix, of OPC and Indy very rare to find a old Porsche with all OPC.

Most have a mix of both these days along with invoices.

Depends ho the specialist is. As with main dealers, some have a better name and reputation than others.

Reading your post properly, if the non-specialist was just doing an oil-change, then as long as there was an invoice stating what oil was used, and it was a quality oil, it would make absolutely no difference to me.

Other buyers might have a different view, but it doesn't take a specialist to drain/refill oil.
