996 Turbo - Purchase price V's Advertised price.

It doesn't matter. A sensibly priced car will sell at the asking price, one that's too dear will only sell when discounted. I'm all for "it's not where you start it's where you finish" but sometimes that's exactly the same and it's still a good deal. Some people are daft enough to turn down a car priced at £25k with no discount but happily pay that for one that was priced up at £27k even if it wasn't as good of a deal overall, just because they think they "saved" £2k.
These are all old cars now and no two will be the same as a purchase proposition. Rather than the question you've asked I'd say it's more important to ask how much a purchaser paid AND how mich they had to spend on their new car either immediately or within the first x weeks/months to get it right - that will give you an idea of what it costs to get into one.

Not sure it is relevant at all.
However, here is a question. My manual car was up at about £20,500 this January. Polar silver with Metropole Blue ruffled (I have just had it reupholstered to get rid of the ruffled centres!). Loads of history, in pretty decent condition, but needed rear brakes doing. 99k miles.
What did I pay for it?

Goose, I was more thinking of getting out of one than in to one.
I paid strong money for mine 2 years ago from a reputable indy. Apart from the odd thing it has only cost me fuel/ tyres and servicing, so I can't complain. I was just curious to see if the cars were achieving the advertised prices (or close on them). As you rightly say all the cars are different specs/condition/mileage, which makes it trickier to draw comparisons.

Cheapest one on here £27k?
Lot of lemons out there with shabby paintwork nowadays, no rust just tired looking.
I will confirm what I paid at some stage, just interested to hear what people think it was worth at the time, only a few months ago. Even with the retrim and a few other bits I think I would at least break even. There is a lot of silver in the interior spec which will have put people off, but I am just about to tone it down by replacing the silver PCM1 with a black Pioneer unit so with the seats, it is going to look quite smart.
I would love to think it'd fetch £27k as I would show a profit but I just wouldn't want to sell it.

I'm waiting for my wanted add to go up about wanting to buy a manual 996 TT so contacting me could be a good idea if yours is a manual.
I think the guy who paid 20k ish may make a profit(depending obviously on his costs so far) but id be surprised if it sells today for £27k.

Shantybeater, I appreciate all the details you listed will affect value. I'm just curious if the cars that are £30k ish are achieving those prices.
If I were to advertise mine I have a figure in mind that I would want to achieve just wondered if it's realistic.
I know this is all a bit cryptic but I don't want to turn the thread in to a thinly veiled advert, I am genuinely interested in sold prices.
If, in due course I do decide to sell, I will advertise in the normal ways.
