Hi,

The rear tyre on my 997 turbo has picked up a screw straight through the main part of the tread. The puncture is a slow deflation and has only lost .5 bar over the course of a few hours. The tyre is pretty new and has done less than 500 miles.

The key question is can the tyre be repaired? And, if it can be repaired should I repair it or just bite the bullet and buy a new one to replace it? The OPC provided the tyres at a price to match black circle, would the OPC have the equipment to repair it or should I take it to ATS or similar?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I expect the OPC will refuse. Any other decent tyre place ought to be able to plug it.

Normal tyre place not OPC. Will be fine. Just picked screw up in mine 50 miles after all round new set of Michelin super sports. Grrrr!
I have had lots of repairs over the years and never had an issue. Perfectly safe if done properly.

Hot vulcanised will get the strong tyre repair to last its life. Most tyre shop will do it.
