Hi,

I have a non-UK RHD 997 GT2 I might be thinking of selling. Prices seem to be on the move, and I have lost touch.

What's a reasonable expectation for a 2008 car in Basalt Black, non-bucketseats, as it left the factory with no modifications?

Thanks,

James

Should have added. It's done 29,000KM, full history with OPC, no accidents, 3 owners and in very good condition.

Mine's a similar spec but a UK car, not sure where I'd value it if I ever wanted to sell. Price range seems to be £130k - £165k. Not sure if any are actually fetching those numbers though. Not convinced I'll ever part with mine but I'd probably price it at the lower end as it's comfort seats, 34k miles and very few options, although it is under OPC warranty and as it left the factory.

I walked away from this car at £90k 6 months ago as it had 3 ignitions in RR5. The three ignitions in RR 5 probably nothing but thought at £90k it should be perfect - £90k was quite a bit of cash for these 6 months ago. Think it had 17,000 miles when I took a close look at it at JZM

Didn't realise that had RR5 activity. Most 997 owners I've talked to have at least RR3 - it's very easy to over-rev these and get big numbers logged in 1, 2 and 3, the reality is the engine just takes it in its stride and it makes no difference. It's sad that Porsche have chosen to make people question these engines with this warranty rubbish. Having said that mine's currently under warranty and I had to jump through hoops and get it compression tested to get the warranty extended (even though the 14 RR3s were on it when they sold it to me 2 years earlier).

Be interesting to see if any of these 165k cars sell, there's not much else like a 997 GT2 out there and with all new cars chasing tech and low emissions I doubt we'll see anything like it again.

Went out in mine yesterday for an hour, reminded me how good it is

Saw your breast at Ace - she's lovely. Should have bought her with hindsight as I knew the RR5 were nothing but its the uneducated who would have harped on about it come resale. Shouldn't have worried as I'd have probably never sold her too. My fave car but at £165k far too much IMO. When am I hacking around the Ring = never. And even track days are only a few at most a year nowadays.Lovely condition the Top 555 car if she's still anything like the condition when I viewed her.
