The 'comfortable' 18-way Adaptive sport seats at less than £1k are looking very attractive.

If I'm honest i'm only spec'ing the buckets for resale (probably only keep the car a year). Will i regret not putting buckets in it?

Why do you think you don't want buckets for yourself (ignoring resale)?

Are the buckets height adjustable...?

1/ Can't put daughter in passenger seat with bucket's

2/ Adaptive seats 10000000x more comfortable than 'bucket's

3/ Not tracking this car

Zyp - yes height adjustable (918 style)

I don't find that, but I do believe that the bucket seats fit certain sizes / shapes better than others whereas the adaptable sports seats are well, more adaptable! I assume you've spent a reasonable amount of time in the buckets previously?

I find the buckets excellent for road use!

I recently sourced a Cayman 981 S with sports plus seats, as after trying a Cayman R with buckets, it convinced me that had I gone for buckets, then I wouldn't be responding to this as I'd still be stuck in the car in my garage, as I'd never get out of the car, such is the lack of space.
Just because buckets suit some, get what is right for you, and sod the resale. You're buying the car for you, not future owners.
I have a friend who had to change the buckets in his 996 GT2 for the same reason. He still sold it very easily, although probably wishes he hadn't now!

Well, that's one plus point for you biggrin

Other than that - do you think as things stand, most of those waiting for the GT4 will actually wait until buckets are confirmed as being available (even though this could push the cars back potentially 6 months) or just take the car now with comforts?

If the latter, then those that waited for the buckets will be in a better position come selling time as there'll be fewer of them.
On the flip side, they get their cars in the depths of winter, you might at least get some summer use.

For me, couldn't give a shiney $hite about buckets, but in all honesty I can't see not having buckets will hamper the sale of the car.
It never seemed to matter for the 987 Spyder or CR what seats they have - all other things considered, they still sell quickly.
GT4 will be no different.

IMO lol :-)

Sit tight I'm sure Porsche will resolve this situation or at least offer an alternative bucket seat.

A GT car needs buckets IMO and you'll get used to the 'fit'

Just look how many 991 and 997 GT3s do not have buckets - I would say the majority of them - I don't think the lack of buckets will hinder resale - the car will be massively sought after as is evident from the interest level already. The adaptive sports seats are very supportive and hold you in place almost as well as a bucket seat - the best non-bucket seat I have ever experienced.

Just spec as you want and enjoy - you will still make money on it 12 months later

Sounds like the majority are planning for a resale within 12 months...

Judging by how many intend to sell after 12 months I am not convinced that will prove to be correct.

I am not in the market for these kind of cars....but I would say it seems odd to have all the big wings and 'motorsport' bits....for it to then have normal seats. Surely it HAS to have buckets?!

But I am a firm believer in spec'ing the car for your needs...not the next persons. Surely that's the pleasure in buying brand new??

I think you have pretty much said all the reasons above why you shouldn't get buckets. I really don't see its a mistake to spec the car the way you want it, and I really cant see buckets making more than their cost back come resale so I wouldn't worry about it. Even if they make the car worth say an extra grand or two is it really worth putting up with something you didn't really want for the duration of your ownership? I don't think so...

I'm not suggesting its a bad thing or wrong...its just the nature of the modern demand for the GT cars...increased interest from existing enthusiasts, new enthusiasts, speculators, resellers, etc...everyone's in the pot. Usually nothing new, but usually the speculators would have mainly been dealers...now it is Joe Public too. Its fine...way of the world. I just wonder if when a bulk of people try to offload can you maintain the same premium (compare to 991 GT3 situation)

...anyway, sorry to divert to another values discussion...OP was asking about seats (...err and values)

IMO a GT car should be only be in clubsport spec. It's what the cars were designed for.

This is all irrelevant as you can only spec the car without buckets currently. Porsche confirmed there is no guarantee the buckets will ever be available they hope they will be after August but cannot commit.

If you think Porsche will hold your slot for months to wait for buckets they won't. Your rights only kick in once the factory accept the order and lock the build. As I see it there will be no RHD crash with buckets and therefore no club sports for 2014

Take it with the available seats and then get the RS next year.😀

I agree - the 'Adaptive's are excellent seats. You can't physically get any more comfort from any other seat, and for road use they are more than supportive enough.

I just feel though the GT4 is going to give a more 'raw' experience than the GT3 so the market will *expect* the full monty - bucket's. It's a tougher decision than colour ffs hehe
