Excluding GT2/3, RS, Turbo models and didn't appreciate or depreciate, what would you buy?

For me, it would be a 997 GTS 2wd manual :-).

The new 911 magazine got me thinking, it has ratings at the back and the SC, 3.2, 930 have 2 or 2.5 stars out of 5, whereas a GTS has 4.5. Are people buying cars for investment purposes over enjoyment?

So strip away the value, investment stuff and what do you pick?

I guess this is where we'll be in 10 years when old cars are just old...

I'd probably take a nice manual 964 C2 coupe.

I like the size of earlier cars.

993 C2 Coupe. Always wanted one, but never quite got round to it.

964 3.6 Turbo in Rubystone.

I know it's not the best...but it is, to me, the most desirable.

I'd probably have one of these, but I think you'd have to exclude all limited edition models, so I reckon the Sport Classic should be off limits

3.2 Carrera is a pretty special drive too - any 997 feels like a limo by comparison!

assuming everything being equal in terms of being fully stock & sorted cars , then without doubt a 1973 2.4S, or a 71 2.2S

following on from there either a stock 993 c2 manual or a 964C2 with modded suspension

watercooled wouldnt even be on the list , they do nothing for me

Already got it. A pre Varioram C2 manual with the old fashioned sport seats and a zillion miles under her belt so I don't have the worry of mileage watch.

The kick at just under 5k rpm is addictive on the pre Variorans IMO. Well it is to me at least smile
