997 With factory GT3 kit
Discussion
I know generally speaking reps, bitsas, forward dates etc are seen as the worst thing on the planet but just wondering if it is really worth £49k?
I am looking at getting in to a 997 but I don't have GT3 RS money, as much as I would love one.
The car in question...

First thing i would do is an HPI check and ask an OPC to see what they can find with the reg! No way it has been built by Porsche, but a Porsche dealer (approved bodyshop) may have done the work.
For other similar cars like this, they have been crashed and repaired. So regardless of what happens with the above, i'd get it properly inspected by a Porsche specialist to check for damage and telltale signs.
I don't have an issue with 'fakes', as long as you don't have the GT3 decals and badging. Let's face it, a lot of older 911s are now modified with period upgrades from RS models and it's seen as a good thing. However, putting on the badges is small willy syndrome.
Cheap for a GT3, but a lot of dough for a boggo 911. Remember there are the usual engine issues to consider as this ain't no Mezger!

Surely Porsche would never allow their factory have GT3RS badges put on a car thats not a GT3RS. But, if you were to call up the delivering Porsche centre they could tell you, or look at the original order. The company selling the car must have done either of those things otherwise they would not be able to advertise it.
