993 RS or 89 speedster
Discussion
Lucky man. The 993 RS is a true thoroughbred amongst the best aircooled cars and being manual and a coupe is ultra usable as well.
The 89 Speedster is certainly a classic, but it's certainly more niche and not as usable which make reduced it's appeal.
The 993 RS is a great investment and drive. The 89 Speedster is more like art.
Expect the 993 RS to continue to rise faster.

How many of each were made? That's likely the main consideration for future prices.
I'm with the rest here, not in a million years would I part with a 993RS for a Speedster. But all depends on your priorities. Is it for driving or looking at.
Just checked 1014 RS's and 800 Speedster's but it looks like only 14 RHD???

I also own a 993 Clubsport so I guess I tend to agree with the masses. Owned a 993 RS since they were 6 months old and love them. I will say that general feeling is to stick with the RS though!!!!

Possibly shouldn't be offering it on here so feel free to contact me, not sure why my user name shows as a new user as been on PH for 100+ months. Also have a 1989 G50 targa I would trade against a 993 RS. 30k miles and serviced and stamped EVERY year, bit of a time warp car. Dropped the Speedster off for a service yesterday at Porsche Centre Byfleet, The car has amazing road presence, the turbo body rear is stunning, a joy to drive.
Either way I think I'll hang on!!!!
All the ones(RS) I've seen up close or advertised are mostly doctored up!!! Won't say what trader it was but he's got a speed yellow one and was ranting how marvellous it was it screams" tracked the s
t out of it a mile off"
These traders do think we are stupid sometimes???😀😀😀 most of these cars are repainted track cars (with low miles) that have been cleaned up for sale...... Mine is like a brand new car even when you open the door it smells like it come out the factory the previous week!!!!!lol El proper minto not turds rolled in glitter!!!!!!

Having said that I do know that these cars were designed for the track and there are still plenty of nice ones out there!
Before I get put in my place !!!!!😀😀😀😀 just the track side of things wasn't for me and preferred rolling it in cotton wool and cleaning it!!!!!!!!

The factory never produced such a car Ruby
Slightly OT, but one solitary 993 Speedster was built by the Exclusive department for FA Porsche.....
Back on topic, I wouldn't have traded my RS for a Speedster. Perhaps for a water cooled RS, if equity needed to be released, but not for a Speedster. Best of luck with the decision, Jamie.
