I wonder if someone can help me with a query on average fuel consumption. A few hundred miles ago I reset the trip meter both with the button on the instrument binnacle and on the trip function within the PCM.
The issue is that I am getting two completely different average miles per gallon figures with the one displayed in the instrument binnacle being significantly higher.
I would have thought that the read out in the binnacle was simply a repetition of the one shown on the PCM screen but in my case it's not. I've read the handbook and can't find an answer.
Another issue I have with the PCM is that in the navigation mode, whilst the directions work perfectly the map is completely frozen and never changes.
Any help gratefully received.

I know it's not very exciting but anyone have any ideas?

Hard reset the PCM - press 1, 4 and 8 simultaneously; that may bring back some functionality.

Have you got all the correct options on your OBC? Occasionally the IC loses its memory / coding or is inadvertently incorrectly coded during service; you should have audio, phone, nav, oil and settings accessible from the OBC......

MPG misaligned:
After you 'Reset All' in the instrument binnacle using the stalk did you check if the 'On-board Comp' view on the PCM Trip screen was zeroed too?

My binnacle reads the 'On-board Comp' values always. If I reset one the other resets too. Only the 'On-board Comp' value.

If mine are out of sync it's because I'm looking at 'Continuous' or 'Since hh:mm'...

Map frozen:
Happened to me too (after a windscreen change). I first did the 1,4,8 reset then activated Navigation to somewhere, pressed the 'Set' button while on the stuck map, selected 'Factory Setting', pressed the MAP button again... it was unfrozen.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the responses, tried the hard reset to no avail. As they are not serious issues I'll get them checked out at the next service.
