Windscreen seal loose
Discussion
Hi new owner of first porsche and first problem!!
996 1999 carrera 4, the rubber seal round the drivers side of the windscreen is loose. I've seen older threads from years ago on this but nothing recent
Is this a common thing and what's the proper route to fix / cost?
Thanks!

Pull the rubber seal out and see why it's not being held tight, there's a plastic frame the rubber slots into - sometimes that frame splits and it prevents the rubber bead being held tight enough it can be remedied by inserting the rubber rope from the Porsche service info into the void between the metal and the plastic frame.

The neoprene cord does provide a (temporary) fix, but also traps water in; it won't allow it to flow. https://www.facebook.com/glasstecauto/photos/a.101...
