Okay, so is this a scam. There is an advert on PH for a car that i m interested in. The number is unobtainable when called, the location is down as london, but i have just had an email (in good english) saying that the car is in Belgium.
the vendor sent an image of the V5c and MOT, but the reg number shows as a different car on the .GOV website.
It sounds like a scam to me, but a friend is ready to send a deposit to secure the car, which is underpriced by around 20%.

Definitely a scam. I was looking at a 911 3.2 Carrera for £15k. Seemed too good to be true. The owner said that her divorce had just come through and she wanted rid of it. The car was in Oxford but she was away in Austria. I said I would use Paypal as a deposit (as I would get my money back), but then she said Paypal does not accept transactions that high, so a bank transfer was the way to do it.
This got me suspicious, so I asked for more details. She sent a copy of her driving licence and a gas bill to prove where she lived. So I found the phone number on BT and the person who answered was the lady on the details, but she had no 911 for sale. Her ID had been cloned and they were using it to scam people.
The golden rule is, if it seems to too good to be true, it usually is..
This got me suspicious, so I asked for more details. She sent a copy of her driving licence and a gas bill to prove where she lived. So I found the phone number on BT and the person who answered was the lady on the details, but she had no 911 for sale. Her ID had been cloned and they were using it to scam people.

The reg number that will come with the car is: %$07$%£. As stated before the car is still registered to United Kingdom. The car is in Brussels, Belgium prepared for transport with all registration documents, service records, both car keys and the original invoice.
If you are interested in purchasing i want to use a third party for our protection in this case Amazon Payments using their services it allows you as the buyer to receive the car first and also give you an inspection period of 7 days in which you can decline the sale if you are not satisfied. I doubt that since the car is in perfect condition.
The shipping will be home delivery and insured.
If you're interested to purchase just email me with your full name, full shipping address include postal code and your phone number, so I can notify Amazon Payments that you are selected as my buyer and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure (how the transaction will take place, how you are protected and payment options).

Why is it these scam artists always insist on using some sort of amazon/PayPal payments system for 'Their and your protection' They know your spidey senses must be tingling so they try and nip it in the bud!

String him along and waste his time, tell him you are happy to do this 'deal' with him but to make sure you have the right account number, can he send you a nominal amount like £10 or £20 and then you will send him the £££ after.
Once he sends the cash tell him that is payment for wasting your time
