The standard brakes on the GT4 and new GT3/GT3 RS are apparently the same.

However, to upgrade to ceramics is significantly more expensive on the RS (around £1200 more).

Does anybody know why this is?

Because the average GT3RS buyer is richer than the average GT4 buyer and can afford to pay the extra. Some of them are considerably richer! wink

The fronts do appear to be the same, are we sure the rears are ??

Yes, purely down to market positioning.
The 918 uses the same PCCB discs as the GT3 RS and GT4 (410mm/ 390mm). I would really like to know the difference in cost for replacement discs between those cars. Just goes to show what crazy pricing margins Porsche must have on the higher end models.
