Becker head unit

Gents, i stupidly let go of a becker grand prix and a becker cascade when i sold my 2 mercs r107 300 sl's.......

I had bought the gp brand new...

Now it is really hard to replace.

I have a 993c2s and a merc 560sec incoming, i need to get one.

Preferably a 7990 with the amber lighting. Anyone knows where i can get a really clean one at reasonable rate?

I checked ebay and there is not a great deal. Some from dodgy dealer and i would really like to avoid the ones with blue or red illumination.....

There's a guy called Rob Marrs near Woking who sells on eBay, he's a car enthusiast (may even be on here, hes a BMW club member). Has a huge stock of Traffic Pros and Cascades, so would e thought he'll have or be able to source what you want.

Have you looked at the latest VDO / Continental unit? Amber lighting, retro looks but with DAB and Bluetooth https://bbg-automotive.de/shop/out/media/CDD7418UB...

It's what I will be buying if my Becker stops working.

Good call, i found that earlier today whilst browsing on 911uk. Do you know if you can control a subwoofer on those?

I plan to have one of those extremely flat subs seating under the passenger seat. Costs peanuts, prevents from having to use an amp and removable in seconds with zero modification or drilling.

I found Rob Marrs. Messaged him.

Given that i need two, will get one becker for the merc and one vdo for the 993 and compare.

The VDO unit is listed as 24v, must be for HGV's unless they also do 12v ?

as Doctorima pointed out your link shows a 24V unit.

I have not purchased one so I can't help you with the tech details. Some of the chaps on 911UK may have purchased recently so may be more help.

I was very interested as I purchased a second hand Becker for silly money. As good as the Becker is, I will not be doing that again.

Post back with an update if yo get one.

OT but did you buy the SEC in Portugal by any chance?

Did anyone actually ever buy one of these? Interested in any feedback before I take the jump and get one for my 996.
