Not having owned a car before, please excuse such a basic question! However, I don't want to risk a crap job and don't have a convenient driveway/house set-up (living in flats with the car parked on the road). Does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable, trustworthy place to take my 981 to be washed and waxed for a sensible price? Thanks!

Whereabouts in London are you, how far are you prepared to travel, and how much is reasonable in your mind?

In North London, and willing to travel about 5 miles. I guess I'd be prepared to spend about 10 for a basic wash. I might try the American hand wash company.

All hand car washes are swirl central and your car will be getting worse with every wash unless you find a "Detailer" who has a hand wash but then you are in for £25 each time.

That sounds reasonable any detailers you can recommend?

Better to buy a couple of buckets and do it yourself!

Lellers on Kendal Street off Edgware road are always good. Been using them for years. Plenty of exotic metal being washed there every day. £15 upwards.

To be fair, if you're looking at spending £25, you won't get a 'detailer', you'll get someone with a couple of buckets and some products!

If you want cheap but half decent quality, then James on Hampden Square, N14 does a good job. He does a few high end cars like Ferraris, Porsches, Bentleys etc.

If you want a proper job with low risk of swirls etc then either do it yourself or use a car detailer like Perfection Detailing but they are not cheap.
