For me it doesn't sound great. Too artificial. But hey - sure it will be a lovely car.

For sure- the NA 991 GTS engine sounds lush compared to this new turbo!

To me that engine sounds more like a 2 litre than a 3.

Here's a video from inside the car, going round the race track at Hockenheim. Sounds pretty good and pretty familiar to me.

It's sounds better there than it did in the other videos, but my general impression is that the sound has been "rounded off" a bit compared to before? I went for a 20 min spin in my BGTS this afternoon and it sounds far more guttural, edgy/sharp and "I'm going to rip your knackers off" than the vid.

All that said, it sounds much better than it did on the spy vids a while back and credit where it's due it's still a good noise from a turbo I think

Does the new car have the augmented sound that a lot of new cars does? Something piped through the stereo? The difference from inside to outside, suggests there is some sort of devilry at work...

I'm not saying this is the case for 911s, but from what I have read some cars (Maccas I think) have the sound piped (not from the stereo mind) into the cabin to make it sound louder inside because the noise insulation of the car is so good i.e. the exhaust/engine is plenty loud enough, but it's just that sound insulation tech to get rid of road nose etc that we all quite like is now so good that if they don't pipe it through, you wouldn't hear the engine properly (which we also like) even though it's quite loud

sounds like an xbox or playstation.

mid-corner up shift didn't unsettle the car so that's at least impressive

Problem for me is it sounds the same every time!
Cars that do this because they are meant too tend to pop on the over run at random. Sometimes pop, sometimes pop pop, sometimes bang etc...
This just sounds like someone firing a paint ball gun...
