Porsche 991 Turbo or AMG GTS?

Let me start by saying that this is not a question I am wrestling with at the moment (sadly) but I have just spent two days driving the AMG GTS and it was an incredible experience. I have always thought they were good to look at but the combination of sound, practicality, extreme performance, price, looks and rarity makes it a very interesting and viable alternative to a Porsche Turbo.

I have owned a 991 C4S and I currently own a 997 Gen 2 Turbo S so I have a little experience of the performance of the Turbo and the refinement of the latest 991 Porsches.

I would be interested to know from other Porsche fanatics what they think of the AMG GTS?

I'm alone in this , but I was disappointed by my drive of the gts, and I'm a big Amg fan .I must say it was so lethargic I actually think the car I drove was a dud.

Tbh I'd save 50k and buy the c63 coupe , same engine , pretty much same interior .

But spending 150k personally I'd buy neither of the cars you mention .

Just look how busy the GTS thread in the Mercedes forum here is, to give you an idea..

Plus a guy who sold his after few miles....

The Porsche being compared isn't a Turbo, but the gist according to Autocar probably still stands: Merc = great car, exciting & special - but not quite a match dynamically for the Porsche.

So depends where your priorities lie!
