"Why did you buy a Porsche" in a stupid tone
Discussion
I s
t you not but I've had this a few times.
Strangers, co-workers, friends of friends, whoever. On occasion they've seen my car and then cracked the question in a manner as if I'm stupid or guilty of something.
Just to name a few
Them: Why did you buy a Porsche?
Me: Err, power and performance I suppose
Them: Really?
Me: Yes
Them: Really, you actually bought a car for its performance?
Me: Yeah
Them: Err ok then

and again
Them: Why do you have that? (nodding at the Porsche)
Me: What do you mean, "why do I have it"
Them: Yeah why
Me: Because I wanted it?
Them:
and another
Them: Why did you buy that
Me: Performance
Them: I bet its s
t on fuel (in an arsey tone)
Me: Nah mate, they dont make cars bad on fuel any more, I get about 50mpg out of it (I'm being sarcastic here just to wind them up but they are too thick to know).
Anyone else?

If I get any comments at all, they're usually positive. The most common one though (in incredulous tones) is along the lines of "You live a mile up a track that I have trouble getting my 4x4 along - how the feck do you manage it in THAT?!" and I'd have to say that they have a point...
The comments I get about mine are usually quite positive, but I find some even those who are into cars know nothing about Porsches and they are convinced their Golf Gti's, Astra VXR's are just as fast handle as well and cannot fathom why I would spend my money on a Porsche than a hot hatch.
Oh and it's assumed you are very wealthy because you drive a Porsche.

I always say that it's because I have a micro-penis. In fact, it's probably the smallest micro-penis known to medical science so I have to compensate for it in some way. Nobody wants to spend the rest of that conversation talking about your penis, particularly when you've taken their punch line.
