I made the mistake of taking a test drive in a new Boxster S on friday, and even though I wasn't really expecting to buy one, I've placed on order. I was pretty lucky and have managed to get an early April build slot, the downside of this is that I had to confirm the spec on friday. After much deliberation, I went for the following:

Basalt Black
Black leather heated sports seats
19" carrera S wheels
Bose with wind deflector
Climate control
Sports steering wheel
Got stainless kick plates and mats thrown in FOC.

I thought long and hard about full leather, PCM, 19" sport designs, PASM, 18" wheels, etc, etc. Decided on a fairly low spec in the end, couldn't really justify spending £46k on the car, seems quite good value at £42k though.

Looking forward to it now.... I only managed about 6 months without a Porsche, it'll be pretty different to the 964RS though...

Well done. how did you get such an early slot? When I was in asking on Saturday I was told June at the earliest. Do some dealerships have earlier ones?

It was luck as much as anything. One chap hadn't paid his 10% to confirm spec, so the dealer offered it to me to get my order. I'm sure if you phone around you'll be able to get one for may/june delivery. Bear in mind a car having spec confirmed today isn't likely to be ready for collection until early may

Thanks. Delivery in Early may is not too bad. I am looking at some secondhand ones too, though.

Many of the write ups suggest that its best to get the adaptive damping if you are going for 19" wheels or else the car becomes very crashy-are you going for this?>
