Red calipers on my 996/C2
Discussion
looking into having my calipers repainted as they are starting to get a bit faded, i am reading on forums that a few are saying that the C2 came with silver calipers / C4 came with black and red only came with the C4s & Turbo models but i am sure mine came from the factory with red from new, was this an option ?
The picture was taken before they started to fade.

Molly is correct.
IIRC painted callipers was once a factory option so you could spec the colour you wanted. OPCs have also been able to change the standard colour via their body shop. One of the PHers on the 'Cayenne Diesel' thread had his standard black callipers redone in yellow (which is traditionally the PCCB ceramic brakes calliper colour).

Will you be painting them yourself or having them done.
I'am half way through doing my daily driver calipers red just now the paint I've found is a near perfect match to the Porsche red calipers ( a close match to Guards Red too ), I'll post some details if your interested.
Yes that would be good to see how yours turn out, I'am half way through doing my daily driver calipers red just now the paint I've found is a near perfect match to the Porsche red calipers ( a close match to Guards Red too ), I'll post some details if your interested.
I have done mine a couple of times over the last 5 years with high temperature clear spray which bring them up really nice but it don't last long.
