Mine is due in November, they said I could not collect it October- Easter. Pity, as last time I collected a car it was on 9/11/07 so things change.
You could do what I am contemplating, for less money than the factory collection do your own drive to Germany in November if the weather is mild.

Def worth it - we did it for our BGTS in July and spent 9 days (max time before your temp german plate expires) touring before getting back. Doing it again though I would pay the Porsche bit of the cost (£600 in July '15) but organize travel etc myself: your dealer will point you in the direction of a boutique travel agency who can do the flights to Stutt, fancy hotel for one night in Stutt, taxi from airport to hotel, taxi from hotel to Zuff next day, chunnel home etc for you (came to £800 for 2 of us), but really it's nothing you couldn't organize yourself for a lot less in an hour or so. I thought the travel/accomm was also some sort of organized Porsche thing, but it's not.What you get that you can't do yourself is the exclusivee factory tour ( you will be with a group of others collecting theirs ) and the factory handover of your very own car. The guy handing it over will go through everything , if you wish, and you will never need to read the owners manual ( though I did, and still do ). My wife remarked " do you realise how long you were with him " when my 45 mins were over. Silly woman !
The Insurance covers the Ring, fully comp, so if you were ever going to have an off at the Ring this would be the best ( only?) time to do it.
I did not realise you could pay Porsche the £600 or so and just collect the car and do your own hotel/flights. For me the most hassle bit was this latter elememnt. I'd far prefer to do my owm hotel/accommodation/ flights.

Yup, and I believe that option is available all year round - its only PGB that say the upgraded UK factory collection package isn't available in winter, so don't see why you couldn't arrange it direct unless PGB get the hump on about it?

Can you give me a bit more info on this please, by PM if you like . I'd wonder how the Pre delivery inspection and dealer prep would work. When I did my factory collection in 2007 I had to bring it to my dealer for PDI and dealer prep.
When we collected ours we just dropped it off at the OPC on the way back from the Chunnel and some friemdns met us there and took us home. A few days later, the PDI was complete, all the paper work was done and we collected the car now on UK plates. Top tip: your number plate frame for the rear german plate is a cool one that that says "Porsche Werksabholung Zuffenhausen" = "Porsche Factory Collection"
Get the OPC to keep it and put your new UK plate in it as they fit I also asked for them to leave my german plates in the car so that when I eventually have a big garage, I can use them as decorative memorabilia Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
