Indie Service?

My 2007 C4S is due its major service, it has had all OPC service up to now. If I was to try a specialist now would this affect the cars resale. I image I could not trade it in at an OPC with indie stamps? Car has only 21k miles and mega high spec.

I think it would be negligible.

I suppose the real question is will the extra cost of the OPC be recovered at sale? I don't think so.

Most owners would have a mix of both, better than nothing in the book.
It may just be me, never seen one in a older Porsche that is all OPC?

An OPC would still take it in part exchange but would reduce the offer price with indy stamps in the book. As already said though, the off-set in cost of using an indy is likely to balance out over time.

Would expect a car of that age to have a mix of OPC & Indy. Also, tbh your car is getting to the age that OPC's are unlikely to be interested in taking it in as stock IMO. I bought earlier this year a Gen 2 997 C2S a late 2009 car with 52K miles from an indy that bought it from an OPC as a trade in. It has full OPC stamps but the OPC thought the car was 'getting on' a bit. It was traded in for a new 991 but the OPC preferred to pass it straight onto the indy I bought it from.

I agree with this. Your car is likely too old to be taken into stock by an OPC. If they did take it in as a PartEx they would be getting trade bids from their contacts. It would probably be better for you to take it to a good Indie of which there are quite a few and many people on this forum could advise on, depending on your location. For example, I always used Northway near Reading when I was in the UK and always found them excellent but there are plenty of others.

Good point about opc and the cars age.

Price difference between opc and indies I have called about the same. So will have a think.
