squeeling noise like a belt slipping, its not the belts tho

I have an intermittent noise issue which sounds like belts slipping or noise bearing perhaps. It is not rev related, comes and goes but always makes a squeak when engine turns off. I've heard it may be the oil separator? Any ideas?
