Which would you have a GTS4 or a Cayman GT4?
Discussion
So I took a GTS4 out for a couple of days and I was amazed at just how good a car it is, its a world apart from my normal 991 C2S PDK.
I have a GT4 on the way in early December but now I'm starting to get a bit of a itch to order a GTS4.
Maybe I will feed differently after I drive the GT4 but the GTS4 is a real work of art.

note I am talking about a 991 GTS-4
It was the combination of everything, I felt it sounded better than my normal 991, it felt a lot shaper, a bit faster, the suspension felt better and it just had so so much grip. It just felt like a proper sports car again compared to my car which feels like more of a grand tourer

new car are always exciting, but I doubt you can tell it's faster. grip is also a funny thing as 4WD does not really give you grip, it gives you traction but at the expense of a bit more push and less steering feel.It was the combination of everything, I felt it sounded better than my normal 991, it felt a lot shaper, a bit faster, the suspension felt better and it just had so so much grip. Also hard when you say just driven a 4WD PDK GT car and it feels like a proper sports car !
The 991 GTS 4 doesn t feel a proper sports car despite its great capabilities and engine. Agree size is relevant here on the 991 but the whole experience is also nullified imo by the 4wd which was also the case to a degree with the 997.....thats why the 997 GTS 2wd is far more involving as a drivers car than the 991which is perhaps also diluted slightly by the 'first 911' electric steering.
So perhaps a better contrast would be the 997 GTS 2wd v GT4. Probably neck and neck in most areas that matter. Although the GT4 is of course new but the GTS is a 911.........

fixed that 4 u :-)I trust you meant THEREFORE and not THERE FOR.......
You will find that the vast majority of 911 owners know the engine is in exactly the right place........
:Just got the latest copy of Car magazine. 8 sports cars compared, quite a diverse bunch.
Ferrari 488GTB, Mac 675LT, GT3RS, GT4, Aventador SV, Merc AMG GTS, Lotus Evora 400 and Corvette Z06.
Anyone interested in the outcome?
Best engine - Z06
Best steering - Evora
Best Lamborghini ever - Aventador SV
None of the above came in the top 4

Quote - If value for money were a factor (it wasn't), the fourth-placed GT4 would win. How could it fail, when it costs half as much as a GT3 and one-fifth of an Aventador? We all love it. But it's rival Porsche, the GT3RS, is faster, sharper, more dramatic to drive, has more definition to its steering and better modulation to its braking. - End of quote.
Macca might have won but it was a pre-production model and broke down - powertrain issue. Only areas where the GT3RS beat it were engine character....and reliability.
Good read though.
