ABS & PSM Failure

Recently been getting an intermittent fault, in that soon after starting up in the morning and engaging gear, the ABS and PSM Failure lights illuminate. It also happened after a "hard braking" exercise.

This is reset by stopping the engine and restarting.

I know that it is usually the brake light switch or either (both) the ABS sensors. I replaced the brake disks / sensors just over a year ago.

Anyone near Camberley with a Durametric who can read off the Error code at all?

Have you checked the plug on the brake pedal is on correctly ? had the same in my 996T and this was the cause.

Mine was caused by loose pipe to one of the turbo's.

Usually caused by

1) Brake switch
2) MAF sensor

Bust can be a lot of things. Would take to a specialist for testing.

My 996 did the same when the MAF went... done it twice over the 8 years I've had it.

My brake switch wasn't seated correctly and gave this fault. Gradual and occasional at first, until the warning lights came on every time I used the car.

I reseated the brake switch (its a tight bayonetted fit) and it was instantly cured.

I was fearing duff sensors or worn wiring...
