GT4 Clubsport - $165,000.00

Looks like Porsche are taking this 'racing' GT4 seriously. Anyone on here buying one?

eta - approx $200k all in with spares and first year races! How does this compare with 911 Cup costs? Sounds a lot of money to me - would the savings be in operating and maintenance of the GT4? Be interesting to see if any drivers move from 911 to GT4

I can see on the British GT website a Cayman 'SP' run by a German team took part at Donington as an Invitation and was competitive.

There were 15 GT4 cars racing (including the Cayman) which is very healthy compared to even a couple of years ago where it was a handful of cars at most. I see the GT3 grid has shrunk, i imagine due to the phenomenal expense.

As such, looks like a good time to launch a GT4 car. To be honest if i hadn't just bought an Appendix K Mustang i would have a serious think about this.

I think that was always the idea with the GT4....like Aston GT4 a club /GT4 racer that can be road used ??

Did any Aston N24s actually get sold to the public as a road car though? I remember Bez drove one to the Nurburgring and raced it in the VLN, and of course James May used one in the Top Gear episode.

The original N24 compared to the current GT4 would be pretty slow too. As such, the idea of the GT4 being road legal is perhaps dreaming a little. However, hardly impossible to make a car road legal given they did it with Porsche 962s! It would be rubbish though, as James May found out with the Aston.
