wrapping your porsche - would you?

Have never been keen on the idea of wrapping cars hearing horror stories of lacquer peeling off when removing the wrap etc.
I'm now very close to doing a deal on a gt2 which is white - full repaint/colour change was my first idea but friends are saying it would hurt resale and to just wrap it.
So 2 questions really:
- would a respray from white to black affect a 997 GT2 future values?
- how bad is wrapping really?

I’d speak to a specialist detailer like Richard Tipper – he is likely to have worked with and had to correct the side effects of poor wraps.
As with PPF and wraps, it all comes down to the fitter, cutting pattern and ultimately, condition/age of the underlying paint. Surface preparation is everything and I’m amazed at the poor attention to detail I see when it comes to finish on some of the wraps.
Personally, I don’t see the point of such a change to the GT2. If the car was nipple pink and you wanted to change the colour, I'd understand.

To answer your 'repaint' question - repaint may well affect resale value, but tbh if you show a potential buyer the car's history in detail, and can show them when/why you repainted it, and proove its not been in an accident - it might not matter too much. It does however cost an awful lot more than a well applied wrap.
