964 3.3 turbo 2 questions
Discussion
Hi, I'm new to this forum so apologies if these are the questions of a dimwit.
I'm considering upgrading my 944 S2, and tested a LHD 964 Turbo 2 today and had a couple of questions:
1. seat adjustment: I had difficulty getting the seat adjusted to be comfortable (not because anything didn't work, it was all electric and seemed to work correctly) - I'm pretty tall is this just something I'll have to accept? In other 911s I've usually been OK if they were LHD, but this is the first 964 I've tried. Anyone have any tips on this?
2. related to 1. is there any steering wheel adjustment?
3. engine noise was pretty significant is this normal?
thanks
Dan
PS It seemed quite quick

Seat adjustment.
Turbo II may have 'comfort' or sports seats. You get a lower setting with the sport seat. Sometimes there are packers under the seat and on top of the sliders that you can remove.
Steering wheel adjustment is zero, although different 'offset' wheel may hep.
Engine noise as standard is low, but induction mods, or a grommet missing broken in the bulkhead could create noise.
Good cars.

Hi i am 6"4" and drive a Turbo2 and have no problems she is a LHD which is the better one in my opinion, because your left leg has plenty of room.
As far as engine noise i am running a G pipe sounds awsome but so addictive.Drive one i bet you change your mind mine is on my profile.
I too am 6'4" and this one is also LHD but still found it a little cramped, I'm wondering if perhaps it has "comfort" seats as per Adrian Cs post and these are increasing height and reducing fore/aft movement?
On a different note any views on mileage? This one is around the 90K miles mark.
Thanks for all the responses. After some thought I've decided that what with the seat question and a couple of other items I'm not going to pursue this particular one.
Still keen to look at a couple more pref with sports seats to see if they're better. So any suggestions gratefully received.
Maybe a LHD 993 C2 would be in range ... (20K tops) ... decisions decisions

Re: the seat and how much leg room you had. It`s actually nothing to do with it being a "Sport" or "comfort" seat at all. The only difference between the two is that the sport seat has larger side bolsters to hold your kidneys and other organs in place as you go round corners.
All the seats have two mounting options to mount them closer to, or further away from the steering wheel. Although only an inch or so apart it makes all the difference. But we knew that anyway didn`t we guys !

Thanks (I think ...
) is there an easy way to tell which mounting point is being used, and can it be changed reasonably easily? danww said:

Yeah its 4 allen bolts you have to move the seat fully forward then fully back to get at the runners and you can see which hole they are mounted in.

Thanks! Moving the seat an inch or so would make all the difference. As long as it was there to be moved of course ...
