So as a big 944 & VW Golf fan, its perhaps no suprise this appeals to me quite a lot!

Ok perhaps the 2.5lux lump is not the best choice & an S2 or Turbo lump would make a far swifter wagon, but certainly it looks to have been done well.
(cheers to dern for the link)
edited to add-
Needs these rims to complete the Porker/VW hybrid effect tho

You're welcome Alex but the link was posted on the titanic list so can't take credit. Looks like a top idea. I've always been fascinated by the idea of converting a FWD car to RWD since a bloke turned up at work in his mk3 escort converted to RWD for rallying. My wife didn't seem that keen on me converting the family mondeo to RWD and dropping a v8 in the front sadly

Yeh dern indeed as you know I've had similar thoughts- ref at some stage converting my track hack Golfy to proper wheel drive.
The other one is a RWD Corrado, I love the Corrado shape & size- quite a bit over the 944 actually & with a chipped VR6 lump its S2 power (if not the bullet proofness of a 944 engine), but a bit lighter. I know a fella who has just got a Passat syncro rear dif for just this purpose, tho I think the plan is to turbo the VR6 lump just to make it silly!
