Any advice on buying a Porsche Boxter
Discussion
So, have been on and off the forum over the years having owned several cars. Last one was a TVR Chimaera which I really regret selling but had just started a new business which required all of my time.
Anyway, I did not want to spend a fortune initially and wanted to get something to have a bit of fun with and get back in the swing of things, so having looked at stacks, I have found a Porsche Boxter 2.7 manual on a 2003 plate with 23K miles 2 previous owners. It is immaculate, with all the bells and whistles, full docs/history etc. All checked out and it drives very well.
I have always had older classic cars, TVR/MGB etc which I enjoyed working on, this time I just want to enjoy and do trips out on nice days. Porsche is an unknown area for me I have read some good reviews but its not the same as asking people like you who really know.
I would be obliged for any comments or advice, the price is a no brainer on this one and I am very tempted because of the low mileage and condition, but if anyone steers me clear I will really think again. It is not a bogus deal, I am an ex cop so have checked all the bases.

There are various engine concerns on 911 and boxster between 1997 and around 2007, perhaps overplayed/overhyped, and I'm not sure which if any, affect the 2.7 boxster, however it would be prudent for you to at least be aware of what's what.
But if it's cheap enough, and you do have a big bill - so what? Just dispose of it and move on.
They are a lot of car for the money.
