Excellent service, advice and general maintenance plan over a number of years.
Hopefully you will find a good Indy that you can build a good trusting relationship with. It will make a huge difference to the enjoyment you get out of your car. Hope you're enjoying the 996 Turbo!

Was pondering this topic last night; I wonder if people's ideas of a "good indie" vary?
That's not to aim anything specific at any of the names already mentioned, but rather to consider, perhaps, the two opposing ends of the spectrum:

- Budget based: keep the car on the road as frugally as possible
- OCD based: meticulous inspection and maintenance with nothing "left until the next service"
Yes that's a pretty good question as what one wants from a specialist
Just to be awkward I am in the middle of the two suggested scenarios
My pockets are not bottomless but nor do I want to cut corners
I believe an OPC is a place to get maintenance I don't need too soon e.g. Sir should have new discs and pads even though thet are only 75% worn
I had a great indie but he retired.Basically I would ask, service the car properly.tell me what is genuinely needed and what is best sorted now and in the near future
Last service just after I got the thing completely overlooked the fact that the ventilated discs were completely clogged witha ccumulated muck for example and that heat shields did not yet need renewing as advised just someone had fitted them with undersized washers originally which had pulled through.An oversize of same will give several more years service with no unecessay expense.
So really what I want is to be able to trust someone!

Attention to detail, tell you what really needs doing and what should be considered, not doing work that doesn't need doing, using decent quality parts and fluids, not taking on a job they're incapable of finishing, not charging the earth.Chris.
