Cayenne Diesel S Spec

Have never posted on here before although have been a member for a while and really enjoyed reading all the opinions out there!

So have just ordered a new Porsche Cayenne S Diesel and have been having real issues with myself over the spec as everything seems to be an extra! I'm trying to find the right balance as i want the car to be special and also have the right options on it for future desirability..... have gone for air suspension, turbo II wheels, panoramic roof, PCM, Bose and a whole host of other smaller options but would like to know if there is anything that is a must in the eyes of Porsche owners? also having serious arguments with myself over colour as I quite fancy the grey but think the metallic black will look great and be safer long run.......

Any constructive feedback and thoughts much appreciated?

About to take delivery of my 4th Cayenne S D, IMV the 21" and air suspension are a must, but don't forget the heated front screen now auto,( big glass area, mists up a lot in winter months) and Sport Crono, it also gives another throttle and suspension mode..

Options add up really fast.

Looks sensible, the only thing I would absolutely want to add is the heat and noise insulating glass. Brings down the NVH, makes conversations in traffic easier, just makes the car feel higher quality in my experience.

I am on my 3rd brand new Cayenne in 4years,previously an S diesel and a year ago switched to an e-hybrid and saved approx £30000 in income tax, no 1st year registration fee and road tax exempt!.I test drove an S diesel prior to ordering one a couple of years ago,it rode on 21inch alloys and air suspension and did'nt like the ride at all and after speaking to Matt Prior from Autocar took his advice to spec PASM,no air and 20inch alloys and it rides beautifully with superb damping and body control.Porsche dynaminists dislike air as well due to difficulty in fine tuning it.
Latest cayenne are improved in this area so all i've stated above could be outdated.Otherwise cayenne is colour sensitive so go black or white,spec 18ways with two tone red/black leather(it really lifts interior),PDLS(no ugly washer nipples),panoramic essential imho and electric tow bar is wonderful also.
PS don't forget heated seats front and rear.

thanks for the feedback! some interesting options i would never of usually considered...... can't believe how difficult it is to spec a Porsche, can't help but feel your getting fleeced paying for options that are usually stancdard on a lot of other top end cars.....

Have you been given an estimated delivery date? I placed my order at the beginning of August and last I heard I was being told March.

I'm told April. I understand that there has been a delay in production for the Cayenne S Diesel due to parts supply but that the cars should start coming through in March and that my delivery date will be end of April.

Hope that helps but i guess you need to quiz your OPC to see whats going on.

I've gone for the mono-chrome side window trim which replaces the chrome with gloss-black. Only ~£150. The chrome trim on my (now 8-year old) Audi has got marks which seem impossible to polish out.

I note that online services is now a no cost option, I'll ask them to add it to my spec.

Yes really!.Up to April 1st 2015 any car with less than 95g/km emissions used for business purposes qualified for 100% 1st year WDA(Written down allowance),my Cayenne e -hybrid cost approx £75000 new and 42%(income tax) of £75000 equals £31500.

Couldn't live without my heated steering wheel. Love my PCCB too, but a bit extravagant.

Thing I regret not speccing is auto dimming interior and drivers side mirrors. Big oversight, slshoukd be standard on a car like this.

Got an email back from Solihull this morning about adding Online Services to my build. They said it was 'in production' and the delivery date is 18th March. Not quite sure what 'in production' means as I'm sure it doesn't take that long for robots to put a car together.

CM74 I think you need to chuck as much carbon fiber at it as possible!! Enjoy mate, it's gonna be fab.....
