PCM loosing satellites

Weird issue on my 958 Cayenne. Noticed recently that it has rather randomly stopped picking up satellites. The problem seems to fix itself after about 20/30mins of driving but it's a little annoying if I want enter a destination as soon as I get in the car. Initially I put it down to being close to buildings, etc. but it has started to happen more and more often.

Any ideas what could be going wrong? Perhaps a weak battery issue (been told strange things start to happen when a battery is on its way out!).

I've similiar on my 2013 Cayenne Diesel, the clock on the PCM at times indicates a later time than the one on the other display and then I notice the PCM map has hung. I cure it by pressing it on/off . Thought only mine did it or it was me and my location in Ireland.

I've seen the clock thing too a few times too. Unfortunately the switch off/on doesn't resolve the lack of satellite reception for me. Trip to the dealer beckons I think

Have you had a windscreen fitted? Mine went wrong after it was done as the satellite unit was ripped out whilst it was fitted.

Ahh NUTS. This could be it. I had one done a couple of weeks before Christmas. However, it WAS working OK until recently (I end up using the nav a great deal). But I reckon this could be it. I'm guessing you are referring to the satellite receiver?? If so, where is it/how did you end up fixing it?

I've got a 997 and the receiver is in the bulkhead offside but may be different in yours? Basically, the fitter ripped out the plug and snapped the connector so the satellites wouldn't get picked up. When I looked at it he had put some of the windscreen sealant in it so it didn't look broken!!

In the end the windscreen place paid for a new receiver to be fitted, as when I showed them what had been used to bodge it,it was clearly their own sealant!

Sports cars have the gps fitted left side of front screen but im afraid cayennes are fitted under the spoiler/top trim over the Rear screen.

It is most likely the Gps antenna that is faulty and in the garage i would probably swop it out with new to confirm this .. but .. its best to have a fault code readout done first as theres several things it could be.
