Garage Door Opener

Does anyone know of a way to wire a garage remote control fob to a 996. So rather than fumbeling for the remote control i could just push a button on the dash board.I thought i had seen a thread about this on the Renn Tech site but could not find it?
Very, very good.
Have a search on boxa.net too. I'm sure someone linked to it, then had a crack themselves.

I have my door opener wired to a momentary action switch in the batwing bit above the centre tunnel.
The sender unit is behind the fascia plate, so all looks very tidy.
Works very well, so I can press the button as I approach the house and drive straight in to the garage.

BRT,
US spec vehicles often come with an option called "Homelink". The "Homelink" can be programmed with up to three remote control channels so you can unlock your gates, switch on your security lights and open your garage door etc. Unfortunately, the system is not available as an official option in Europe. Also, the frequencies between US and Europe are different so you can't just order the US spec part and fit it to your car.
I would be surprised if there isn't some sort of accessory part that you can fit to your car. Keep looking.
Good luck.

they just happen to open garage doors too. You would need big cajones to use one, as the
are taking a very dim view. They don't want to lose a healthy revenue stream
