Sump heater...
Discussion
Has anyone used a sump heater / pad on a 997.2 to help the engine oil get up to operating temperature a bit more quickly when the car has been stood overnight?
When I drive the long way around to work I find that whilst the coolant has hit the right temperature, the car is nice and warm inside and the gearbox is silky smooth the engine oil is still kicking around near 60.
So currently I'm not using my car for the work commute whereas I could with all my other cars - including my e92 m3 - the alternative of driving for even longer is not viable due to traffic congestion.
I was thinking if I could get the oil temp up a bit before I set off then I might be able to use the car daily like all my other cars I've owned...hence started thinking about a sump heater.
