Love the agreed value quote.
I personally think that there are so many shagged 944s out there, that if the car really is as good as described then why is it not worth 16k?
If your ideal car is a red S2 cab, and you intend keeping it a long time you could see the price as fair.
How much would it cost to turn a £10k car into a concours contender?

well, like anything in life, its worth what people are prepared to pay for it, and youre right about how much you'd have to spend to bring even a good example up to concours spec.
an interesting debate however might be whether concours condition is really desireable in the real world or simply a rather anal pursuit of obsessives (not being either inflammatory or controversial here). I mean ok you drop marks in the PCGB concourse assessments if the airflow vents on the heaters arent straight, but perhaps this is taking our love of porshce a little too far. they are after all cars designed to be driven
another interesting debate would be whether a low mileage old car in superb nick is inherently more reliable than a higher mileage one which is used regularly. gaskets, rubber seals etc all perish with age and many moving parts are better for regular use. I feel a new thread coming on...

Its a shame that the 944 is worth so little, that £16K for a lovely, convertable, fast Porsche seems too high
I know what you mean, but im glad, as otherwise I couldnt ever own one

The price of that S2 cab just shook me a bit, maybe for the far rarer 944 cab- which i do have a soft spot for actually, its not too silly, just dead high for an S2.
Then again a few of the higher priced pork specialists that price mid miles S2 coupes at £12k, would no doubt put it up for re-sale at £20k plus anyway!
