Boxster platform sharing

... with Audi for their R6. And so the brand dillution continues. It does make sense form an economic standpoint but I had hopes that the Porsche sports car platforms would stay exclusive to the brand. Doesn't look like it. How long until the first MQB Porsche?

Coupe and Spyder
AWD
brand specific engines (2.5L 5-Cylinder seems like the obvious choice)

A sad day. A watering down of the brand and its special place in the automotive landscape.

I didnt care with the Cayenne, but this is wrong isnt it?

Doesn't bother me one jot , chassis still a Porsche design if it was the other way round it would bother me . Porsche have done engineering , design , production , partnership projects etc with other manufacturers for decades so nothing new here .

The problem comes if the platform has to be designed to accommodate inline 4 & 5 cyl engines to suit Audi and flat 4 & 6 cyl from Porsche. Flexability like this always introduces compromises.
