991.2 Targa 4s vs 991 Targa GTS

Whatever you decide you'll love it . I've come from a line of 996 / 997 and 991 GT3,s , intermingled with 2 x Cayman R and most recently a GT4 . I cannot believe how much I've fallen for the Targa GTS . The whole experence is just turned up a notch in a Targa .
If I had the funds to keep a collection of cars this one would be a keeper as it ticks a lot of boxes for a fun road car. The only thing the GT cars above have it licked at would be track days . Personnally ..... I think the GTS Targa is the best looking 911 out there at the moment . (Obviously taste is subjective and I'm biased :-)
Here's a couple of shots from this morning . My 3rd 7am run since I got it 8 days ago !

How does the weight of the targa compare to the cabriolet? My dad has a 991.1 Carrera 4 Cab - must be the slowest iteration! And it genuinely does feel like it could be caught out by a repmobile.

Feels quick enough to me and I'm coming from a run of GT3's and just out of a GT4. 0-60 4.3 s and 187mph , so its actually quicker than then all bar my 991 GT3 . On the track day I'm sure you'd notice the weight but as a road car its not an issue.
I heard all the comments ref weight etc , but ended up in one at Silverstone PEC for a couple of hours when we managed to injure the 991 GT3 we'd spent all morning in. So back to back I was expecting to drive straight off the track at the 1st corner due to the comments I'd heard. Obviously I didn't , the car was very capable and almost as enjoyable . So really pleased I tried it for myself as its a peach of a car. You wouldn't buy one if track days are your main thing , but for just about every other situation I can think of I'd take the Targa over a GT3. Doing NC500 in Sept and looking forward to it far more in the Targa than the GT4 .(But by the same token, if I had a load of track days booked I'd want the GT4 back).
I love variety so this is great until the 991.2 GT3 start to appear at which time we'll try one of them ( hopefully )...
I'd go 991.1 GTS personally, part of the buzz of open air motoring is listening to the engine note and exhaust and that has to mean the earlier car is slightly better. 991.1 GTS Targa is also a rare car (I think most OPC's only had one or max two allocated/sold) so it'll hold it's value really well too IMHO.

Track day , obviously I'd take the Gt3/4. (I suspect the Targa may run out of brakes on track , but yet to find that point on road and I have tried)
Euro or UK road trip I'd take the Targa. I suspect over my normal B road Sunday routes the difference will be negligible between the two cars , that's how it feels to me at the moment, apart from in the Targa I'll have a bit of tan and feel like I've immigrated to California.
