Just a heads up if anyone is looking for a NEW Cayenne - discounts have been crap until recently but just spoke to Leicester OPC (they sent me an e-mail - (Cayenne Event 13th-14th May). Good discounts being applied! Tempted to swap our V6d for a V8d. Mmmmm... need to do some man maths

I got told 3k on a v6 diesel, no discount on a platinum edition though.cowboyengineer said:

Interesting that.Late April, I was told by a little birdie at OPC Leics that they had been told to stop telling everyone late 2016 for the new Cayenne because it had been delayed until late 2017. I was also informed that many customers were getting out of the 2010 version and into the facelift.
But I smell a rat. We've just had the release of the Platinum edition, and now this big event in May to push sh*tloads of facelift Cayennes. These are exactly the kind of things that happen just before a model is replaced.
My guess is around early August time we'll start seeing 'leaked' shots of disguised MY2017 Cayennes in Nevada and Germany, with engine and interior press 'scoops' shortly after that.
The car then making its debut at Paris in late September, the configurator in October, and my driveway in March 17.
Job jobbed.

Looks like my 'friendly' OPC salesman was definitely spinning me a line - late 2017 my arse.

Still no sign of the new Cayenne! It does look like late next year though.
There are still LOTS of Cayenne's around though...I have been to three OPC's in the last few days looking at cars. Hatfield have five new V8 Diesel's in stock....they have another 10 or so due this year. Didn't get to see how many V6's but I assume a lot!
There are healthy discounts on pre-registered or ex-demo cars....good spec V8's are anything between £10k and £20k off list depending on when they were registered/mileage but all are 16 plates.
It does seem the VAG emissions issue has caused them problems...according to one salesman there were quite big delays at very short notice for Macan's which meant Porsche lent/leased Cayenne's at cheap rates for the three or four months. Those account for a lot of 16 plate cars now sitting as AUC cars.

It doesn't seem 5 minutes (May) since I was guessing that it'd first break cover at the Paris Motor Show - well that's gone.
Will they choose London in May next year? Who knows.

I've thought long and hard about buying now...I could wait but if I buy a three month old car I am saving myself £20k on a car that would spec to £90k.Will they choose London in May next year? Who knows.

I also think Porsche will let the current situation settle...they aren't going to launch a new car with so many new/unregistered old model Cayenne's....it's Porsche AG's fault the dealers have this outsize inventory. One of the dealer's showed me his unsold inventory for the rest of the year....they have two "regular" 911's to sell , no Cayman's or Boxster's, no Macan's but about 15 Cayenne's across all versions.
I think new Cayenne prices will probably be close to 5% higher than the existing car but the big issue for me is the weakness of the pound. Car manufacturers normally have a year or so of currency hedges I think we're going to see bigger than normal price rises next year across the board. I think the new Cayenne could possibly be 10% more expensive than the current car within a year of it launching.
