And the same publication did 7:32 in the 991 GT3 and 7:33 in the 991 GT3 RS. I know 'Ring times are not by any means an absolute measure of performance, but this strongly suggests that with the arrival of the turbo engines in the 'normal' Carreras they and the GT cars will be very close in terms of absolute performance, though the way they achieve it will differ greatly. I can't find the test on their website yet, and the video doesn't specify the spec of the car in question, but I would assume that time achieved is with both RWS and PDCC equipped, which must give a very different feel to a GT3.

Faster = progress. Did you expect it to be slower? Put some cup 2s on it and it will be faster. But for how many laps? I bet my GT3 will still be going round any track long before the brakes have wilted on a new Car S, or the driver has fallen asleep due to boredom.As always torque wins races :-)
Torque wins races? No. Racing cars win races. F1 cars are the fastest just in case you forgot. Power to weight is the key here, not torque to weight. Torque has no meaning on performance unless you know what RPM that torque is spun up to. Small example for you: the Formula 1 2006 2.4 litre Toyota RVX-06 V8 engine produces 552 kW (740 bhp) at 19,000 rpm but only outputs 274 Nm of torque, nearly 20% less than a 987 gen 1 Boxster S (340Nm).

t. Just read the full article and learned that this laptime was set on Pirelli P-zeros which are not exactly the perfect track tyre. I would love to know what it could do on Michelin Sport Cup 2s! Almost every driving dynamic measurement is comparable to the GT3, including slalom times and lateral acceleration.

you say power to weight is key here, BUT the 991GT3 has a better power to weight than the 991S by a massive figure.Not sure what an F1 car has anything to do with anything !
As normal a load of hot air which people love as you think you are proving a point but post up such big gaffs.
as the 991 GT3 and 991.2 S are just about the same chassis but the latter has no trick sus the times comes direct from the torque the 991.2 car has.
Bhp/ton your magic figure is down at 292 on the 991.2 car but on the mighty GT3 333BHp/ton
